Healthy Bodies

This unit is ideal for staff in an NDIS environment and should be considered essential learning for anyone who is required to apply body system knowledge in a practical support role.

Course Overview

The Recognise Healthy Body Systems unit (HLTAAP001) equips NDIS and support workers with essential, foundational knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. This training empowers participants to confidently interpret client health information, recognise normal body functioning, and contribute to the ongoing health and wellbeing of those they support. Whether working in residential aged care, home care, or disability support settings, this course enhances the ability of support workers to respond appropriately to changes in clients' physical health and better understand the impact of daily care tasks on overall wellbeing. More than just a pathway toward a Certificate IV qualification, the Healthy Bodies unit delivers immediate, practical benefits to everyday care practice. By deepening their understanding of how body systems work together, support workers are better equipped to take a holistic approach to client care — identifying early warning signs, improving communication with clinical teams, and actively supporting positive health outcomes. This unit not only strengthens clinical knowledge, but also builds professional confidence — helping support workers deliver care that is informed, person-centred, and aligned with best practice.
